The company

The company is part of a quality chilled foods group supplying to a number of the major retailers including Tesco, Waitrose and Morrison’s. The business makes a wide range of chilled foods in well-invested sites that give its staff the facilities and environment to produce food to the highest quality and food safety standards.

The job

An opportunity has arisen for a Manager to develop a word class hygiene department. You will ensure efficient and effective delivery of hygiene across the site to ensure compliance with business, customer and regulatory standards.

This position will play a critical role in delivering a clean and hygienic manufacturing unit and managing a large team. You will be responsible for the quality, efficiency and standards of cleaning through effective utilisation of both people and resources plus have full management of the overheads and cost control for the department.

You will also manage the personal development of the hygiene team and work with departments to provide guidance, awareness and training to ensure compliance against hygiene instructions and schedules.

Your experience

You will possess a good hygiene managerial background from within food manufacturing (ideally chilled foods), plus possess an excellent understanding of COSHH, BRC, HACCP and GMP. You will preferably be a holder of a food safety or related degree, be computer literate plus have a proactive and professional management style dedicated to achieving results and continuous improvement.

The Hygiene Manager job is based in the East Midlands region and is paying a competitive salary according to individual skills and previous experience. This is a day-based role; however flexibility is required.
