Senior Packaging Technologist required for well-known chilled food brand!

A business, that has been at the pinnacle of the food industry for generations, with a superb name within the sector has a need for a new Packaging Technologist. Someone with drive and ambition, with an enviable track record who can inspire and lead others as the Senior within the team.

A trusted family company, with a brand equity that sees them in most UK household refrigerators, you will focus on delivering innovation, sustainability and consistent quality in quite an entrepreneurial environment.

To be right for the opportunity, there's a comprehensive technical need from you for various packaging materials and manufacturing processes. Here you'll work mostly within flexible and rigid plastic packaging (i.e. thermoforming, fibres, polymers and injection moulding). Also, having experience within food markets is ideal, but not essential. Your success working within the right packaging materials is most important.

Project managing and delivering within budget on time is a priority of course. The role is demanding, challenging but of course, rewarding. If you want to PACK a punch here, you need to be decisive yet, contemplative, ensuring you listen and take advice, not just delegate and demand! As a leader here, research in future trends within packaging technologies is key. Liaising within the entire team and developing the right approach and actions is your primary objective.

Aside from the internal team, external stakeholders need your full attention. With the positive reputation of this company, the continuation of strong relationships with suppliers is very important here. Whilst open to new ideas, and working with supplier partners on innovative, ground breaking strategies is encouraged, so is diplomacy and soft skills.

As a bare minimum, for you to enjoy this role, you should have…
  • Worked in a recent position similar with another FMCG company
  • A history of working machinery specifications and qualification criteria
  • Auditing suppliers and approving new suppliers experience
  • An ability to travel throughout the UK and across Europe on a regular basis
  • Superb communication and project management skills
  • Ideally a qualification in a related subject

I am keen to speak with interested individuals, so even if your CV is not quite updated or ready for full representation, please get in touch over the phone. I'm looking forward to exploring this further with you.
