Our UK Business unit has six manufacturing plants providing a great place to work for 1800 employees producing private label soft drinks and fruit juices for all the leading retailers including Tesco, ASDA, Morrison’s, Sainsburys, ALDI and Lidl. We also manufacture for branded customers such as Innocent, Ocean Spray, Weetabix, Del Monte and Um Bongo. Whether it’s packed in Cartons, PET, Aseptic PET or Cans, we ensure that our products are not only manufactured to the highest quality standards but they get where they need to be when they need to get there to meet the needs of our high profile customers.
About the Role
The Senior Commercial Manager reports to the UK Head of Marketing and develops the strategic long term brand plans for Ocean Spray to deliver above market growth in line with the core Retail Brands strategy of market outperformance. You’ll own, develop and implement the annual marketing plans for the brand portfolio to deliver agreed annual volume, GM/L and EBITDA budgets.
You’ll develop strong relationships and collaborate cross functionally to ensure the successful development of Ocean Spray and be the brand champion within the Refresco business.
The key responsibilities for the Senior Commercial Manager are to:
· Develop and implement strategies for Refresco UK owned, licenced and managed brands.
· Work closely with the brand principal to develop the long term strategic direction of the brand.
· Understand and have an in depth knowledge of the soft drinks market, trade channels, customers and competitors.
· Leverage and extend brands into the new market sectors via channel and product development.
· Develop growth brand strategies with the Head of Marketing and the wider Commercial Team.
· Manage and develop two direct reports – Commercial Managers.
As a Senior Commercial Manager / Senior Brand Manager you will have a proven track record at management level marketing in FMCG, preferably Food & Drinks Manufacturing, and ideally educated to degree level in a relevant discipline. You will have several years of brand and preferably private label experience. You will be able to demonstrate that you have managed and developed such brands to improve their sales, profit margins and market share.
You will have experience of dealing with UK major multiples and non-grocery trade channels, knowledge and experience of trade marketing, an understanding of category management principles and knowledge and experience of the NPD process.
You will need to be an excellent relationship builder with both your external and internal customers.
