Intake and Despatch Manager
An excellent opportunity for a highly experienced Despatch Manager to join one of the market leaders in the food industry.
THE DESPATCH MANAGER
The job directly manages a team of around 20 people across 3 teams.
·Build and maintain a close relationship with Production Managers and planners to ensure a timely intake and despatch of stock
·Close liaison with Transport Manager to ensure stock is ready to be despatched
·Responsible for 3 teams totalling 20 people to ensure right first time completion of their daily tasks
·Managing of direct reports including staff allocation in line with business needa and 7 day a week operation
·Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
·Monitor, report and assist in establishing KPI's system
·Continuous improvement of the intake and despatch function
·Comply with quality standards including health, safety and hygiene requirements.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
·Previous experience of working at a similar level within a despatch environment preferably food manufacturing or FMCG
·Previous experience of dealing with cold stores and 3rd party suppliers/goods
·Strong leadership skills
·Can work unsupervised and make decisions when required
·Ability to operate within a fast-paced environment
·Hands on approach
·Good interpersonal skills
·Self motivated with a proactive approach
·Knowledge of lean manufacturing would be advantageous
·Logicial and systematic approach
·Reliable, tolerant and determined to get the right result
