A fantastic opportunity has become available to join a well-known beverage brand who are looking for a Warehousing Operations Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract.  Our clients current 3PL are based within Milton Keynes and provide the handling, storage and picking services, including all transport and delivery services through a matrix based pricing system. They also provide an overflow storage capacity for our client. This site is imperative to the success for our client in fulfilling all orders nationwide.

 

Job Role

You will manage all communication between the 3PL and our Client ensuring all contractual obligations are succeeded in line with the Service Level Agreements and KPI's in place for this position. You will need to drive value with the 3rd Party Logistics relationship in order to consistently improve the running of the contract.

 

Personal Profile

The ideal candidate will be strong in 4 key areas, improving customer service performance, improving the warehousing operations, reducing logistic costs and administration.  The duties will include:

  • Daily and weekly reviews of service performance

  • Strategical create and update action plans looking to consistently improve performance levels

  • Review both the customer service levels and the 3PL performance within their customer service team

  • Manage all inventory levels looking to review and improve

  • Forecast the demand, while understanding the potential implications on the logistics operations of central planning due to promotions, seasonal peaks etc 

  • Create and enforce plans with the 3PL to deliver all forecast volumes agreed

  • Ensure staffing levels and all other costs are agreed, creating action plans to reduce overall costs 

  • Look to improve the culture within the 3PL ensuring employee satisfaction

  • Invoicing is an essential part of the role, ensurina that both the warehousing and distribution is correct and that compliance is met with all contract terms 

  • Attend review meetings monthly with our client providing regular updates on any matters of relevance

  • Experience working with Supply Chain systems and processes is essential

  • Knowledge of 3PL Contract Management operating within an FMCG environment is preferred

 

Hours

Shifts are Monday to Friday with a start time of either 10:00am or 11:00am working 48 hours across the week.  Weekends and Bank Holidays will be required on a rota basis and paid at an enhanced rate.
