This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to be accountable for the safe, reliable operation of the plant and effectively manage the team of Shift Maintenance Engineers. The role covers a wide range of preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance

Description

  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and accurately by the shift engineering team through KPI's




  • Act as the sponsor for safe operations in the on-site engineering function, requiring close cooperation with the EHS coordinator and site management team




  • Ensure permit to work requirements are followed at all times




  • Use predictive maintenance techniques such as thermo-graphic imaging and vibration analysis as well as experience, skill and judgement to make regular assessments of the plant condition




  • Introduce a maintenance Management System to log faults and report potential problem areas, extract fault information, generate work orders and log completed work




  • Implement equipment reliability improvements and develop new maintenance methods and techniques




  • Ensure the plant runs effectively at all times and investigate causes of downtime and implement action plans for improvement




  • Develop the skill base of the engineer team to ensure all team members reach their full potential






Profile

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE's grade A-C (including Maths and English) or equivalent secondary qualification




  • Relevant Engineering qualification HNC/HND




  • Thorough understanding of EHS and ensuring a safety culture - formal EHS qualifications such as IOSH/ NEBOSH would be advantageous




  • Diagnostic trouble shooting and Root Cause Analysis






  • Advanced understanding of predictive maintenance techniques, vibration analysis, thermography and ultrasound is strongly preferred




  • Proven track record of managing capital engineering/ maintenance projects






  • Use of a computer based maintenance system, preferably MAXIMO




  • Clear communication skills (fluent verbal and written English) with the ability to communicate with colleagues on different levels in the organisation




  • Experience leading and motivating a team of professional engineers with the ability to conduct training




  • Ability to be hands on and work in detail at an operational level when required




  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement techniques and how they are applied




  • Able to take ownership and accountability for actions




  • Self-starting with personal drive and motivation to proactively identify issues and deliver solutions to problems




  • Able to work effectively under pressure and be comfortable with ambiguity
