Assistant Quality Manager

Hours: 40 hours a week (Mon-Fri) 08:30 – 17:00 with a 30 minute unpaid break (Flexibility may sometimes be required)

Holidays: 28 days a year, bank holidays are included in this. Plus your birthday once you have been here for 6 months.

Reporting to: Quality Manager

Essential Job Functions.

• Helping to ensure that all site standards meet the current BRC and Customer codes of practice.
• Deputise for the Quality Manager.
• An active member of HACCP and TACCP teams.
• Support and development of documentation to support customer & internal requirements.
• Be part of the site internal audit team.
• Management of Site non-conformances.
• Assist the production team during route cause analysis of issues.
• Review and reporting of site Quality KPIs.
• Support new product launches.
• Assisting the Technical Compliance Team with the approval of all own brand specifications and artwork, liaising with printers and ingredient/packaging suppliers against current legal requirements.
• Involvement in the management of customer compliance systems.

Key Skills:-

• MUST have experience within food legislation, customer technical and compliance systems.
• Good understanding of UK & EU legislation relevant to food packaging and ingredients.
• Knowledge of factory processes/manufacturing methods.
• Ability of ensuring compliance with all aspects of product safety and legality.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarisation with Microsoft Office.
