Planning Team Leader | Food Manufacturer

Our client is a leading food manufacturer, offering a variety of branded and own label products to customers including the major food retailers, food service and B2B channels. They operate across a number of categories from multiple locations throughout the UK. As such, they work very closely internally and share a number of resources - there is a big focus on teamwork within the business. About the Role:

This role will focus on leading the Planning team to drive efficiencies, reduce costs and ensure there are no shorts to customers. In short you will utilise your planning experience and skills to improve forecast and planning accuracy to ensure cost efficiency and more than 99% of orders are filled on time and in full. You will be able to work in a dynamic, high pressured environment to solve potential supply issues and work with your team members and other stakeholders in the business to create solutions. You will look after the team of planners in the day-to-day whilst also supporting the senior team with building the longer term S&OP strategies and model. You will be responsible for the RCCP (Rough Cut Capacity Planning) and the identification of potential risks and opportunities. You will achieve this through detailed analysis of our clients numbers, capacities, capabilities and constraints - by linking our Planners to ensure a cohesive and logical process is being followed.

The Ideal Candidate:

The perfect candidate for this role will have 3-5+ years experience in a FMCG / Food planning or supply chain role(s). A mix of manufacturing, stock planning, warehousing, operations planning experience would be ideal. You will be dynamic and have a proven track record of delivering supply efficiencies and cost savings whilst ensuring the BEST service levels possible. Experience in leading a team or showing management capabilities would also be an ideal. As a result of your experience in these areas you will be highly skilled in Excel, be highly numerate, a good communicator and have experience in statistical analysis. The perfect candidate will also have experience in MRP / ERP softwares such as M3, Preactor, Exceedra or Forecast software. Experience in supplying the major UK retailers would be considered an advantage.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have 3-5 years experience in a FMCG / Food planning role(s). You will also need to be an Excel expert, a clear communicator and be able to articulate your methods, reasoning and results with regards to delivering supply efficiencies without sacrificing service levels.

Salary:

Up to £38,000 + benefits package DOE
