What does your typical day look like?

It’s safe to say that no two days will ever look the same, looking after our Retailer Branded portfolio for our UK Retailer customers, you will act to ensure that each Retailer Branded product meets the needs of the customer attribute & bench-marking criteria, ensuring appropriate action is taken to investigate any complaints logged, this will involve analysis data and trends across all products and ranges, you’ll work extremely closely with our quality teams at sites during this process.

When you’re not reviewing technical complaints and issues from customers, you might be visiting on of our many customers through the UK attending both technical review meetings and tasting sessions, as well as attending commercials meetings with our account management team.

What are the key ingredients needed for the role?

You will need to have experience working as a Technical Manager within food, it is also essential that you have worked within the UK supermarket retail sector. Ideally with a relevant degree or education in a Food or Sciences related subject.

Final part of the mix.

To be successful in this role at Burton’s you’ll need fantastic communication & rapport building skills, a big part of this role is presenting key data so you will need to be skilled in MS PowerPoint. Perhaps an even more important skill will be your ability to interpret and analyse data, for this reason advanced excel skills will be required.

While this role is based from our head office in St Albans, it will require travel to client’s sites and some overnight stays will be required. We still want to offer a happy work life balance, so when you are having those busy weeks, we’ll be happy to offer some flexible working from home.
