Enjoy machinery automation and delivering business improvements?
As Controls System Engineer you will be an integral part of this close knit Engineering team, delivering maintenance and business improvements through your knowledge of SCADA and PLC programming. You will work alongside the Engineering Manager, but as a subject matter expert in electrical systems will be given the freedom to assess and deliver engineering solutions autonomously. This will include increased automation, new software to improve reliability and ideas you haven't even thought of yet! Working closely with the Business Improvement team will allow you to flex your Continuous Improvement muscles and gain experience in a range of BI projects.
This role sites in the Engineering team of a manufacturing business unit which is part of a leading UK food manufacturing group, meaning a great name on your CV and long-term career development. This could be a move into Engineering Management with people responsibility or perhaps into a more formal Business Improvement position. While ensuring the system infrastructure is maintained for day to day operations you will also get involved in implementing new technology and systems seamlessly into the factory.
Due to the nature of the machinery and processes on this site you will be utilising your knowledge of AutoCAD, PLC's (Siemens, Mitsubishi or Allen Bradley), MS Project (or similar) and pneumatics/hydraulics. I have been told on good authority that a sense of humour will also go a long way in this six person team.
As with any 24/7 manufacturing site a degree of flexibility is required however your core working hours will be on the Monday to Friday day shift.
