Production Team Leader

Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing's Production Support Division are currently working with New York Bakery, part of the world's largest Bakery Company, Bimbo UK. Their Rotherham Bakery is home to the New York Bakery bagel brand and is a state-of-the-art, high volume, highly automated site producing own label and branded products for all the major retailers.

Following a recent restructure of the bakery production team, they are looking for highly motivated, ambitious Area Line Leaders to join them at this exciting time for their business.

You will be reporting into the Production Manager as part of the site manufacturing team and be responsible for driving continuous improvement and the efficient operation of the production areas to meet customer requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for the largest food manufacturing group in the world. The role is very focussed on people management including development and performance management of your team, and continuous improvement all aspects of food safety, health & safety, quality, productivity, GMP, material, packaging and labour usage.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

* Full control of the line at all times
* Support and develop the bakery team
* Pro-active performance management including disciplinary and return to work procedures
* Develop and implement clear training plans
* Empower your team to take ownership
* Maximise all opportunities to multi-skill your team and increase productivity
* Ensure health & safety standards are maintained
* Ensuring planning and staffing levels are correct
* Communicate and work with other departments
* Delivery and contributing in meetings
*Report writing

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

* Team management experience at team leader or supervisor level
* Excellent communication skills
* Good written and numerical aptitude
* Ability to learn quickly and effectively
* Highly motivated and pro-active
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* Strong decision-making skills
* Ability to work as a team

FMCG food manufacturing experience is essential with food hygiene knowledge and a basic understanding of required principles and processes.
