Do you have years of experience in inventory and excel in developing teams to reach their full potential? Are you passionate about working for a leading FMCG organisation that is fast-paced and entrepreneurial? Then this is the role for you! Based in London, the Inventory Manager will manage an inventory team to accurately process, input and maintain control of all Europe, Middle East and Africa inventory activity at remote plants and warehouses. 


  • Successfully manage a team of 6 in leading the inventory function in all day-to-day inventory responsibilities and activities, ensuring key tasks are completed accurately & efficiently;
  • Ensure that Month End reconciliations are performed accurately and on time
  • Schedule Cycle Count travel and resources for year
  • Investigate, resolve and follow up actions for all non-conforming inventory
  • Enable ‘availability of inventory’ by transacting all inventory related documents 
  • Deal with incoming operational issues as they arise
  • Complete invoice turnaround within expected deadlines  
  • Manage the objective setting cycle and performance management requirements of team members day to day roles
  • Develop team by identifying skills gaps and supporting with training, providing regular consistent constructive feedback to aid development
  • Provide an overview of all EMEA third parties inventory performance and KPI’s
  • Proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities in processes and systems
  • Ensure inventory team controls relevant financial aspects of third-party supply chain partners
  • Liaise closely with finance departments and control all facets of inventory reconciliations and consequential postings,
  • Monitor and report trends in inventory adjustments
  • Monitor and report financial values relating to changes in inventory
  • Work closely with other functions within the operations team to deliver business objectives
  • Comfortable in dealing with the disciplinary process if/when required

Person Specification:

  • Ideally 5 years’ experience in inventory management or as an inventory controller
  • We will look at individuals from beverage, food, FMCG or manufacturing backgrounds as long as they have relevant inventory and management experience
  • Experience managing a team and demonstrable examples of setting clear objectives and improving team performance capabilities
  • Must demonstrate an ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast growing, dynamic and non-corporate environment
  • A proactive, positive individual who is comfortable communicating to all levels of decision makers
  • Methodical and exceptional attention to detail
  • Driven, organised, analytical and a self-starter who is comfortable working with limited supervision while ensuring deadlines are met
  • Able to travel as regular travel within the region forms part of the role
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory management software & processes (SAP would be ideal although not essential)
