Development Chef

The Company

Our client is a forward thinking manufacturer supplying the leading UK manufacturers with innovative products. They are now looking for a passionate and engaging Development Chef who can use their culinary flair to help manage the NPD process and create fantastic new ranges to continue their success in the market place.

The Role

This highly creative and involved role will see you working with the NPD team to create and develop new ideas and recipes for new and existing products. You will be nurturing a creative catalogue of products, allowing them to flourish and evolve to move the business forward, challenge current products and processes and enhance when possible. Reporting to the NPD Manager you will be developing recipes using your knowledge of the food market; you’ll source quality ingredients for ranges that meet customer briefs, quality requirements and commercial objectives whilst presenting ideas and concepts to entice consumers with thrilling new flavours. You will also participate in sensory evaluation, conducting competitive shopping to scope out the competition all the while developing your skills and helping your team stay ahead in this competitive market.

The Candidate

We are looking for an inspiring and tenacious Development Chef with the confidence and motivation to make a difference and drive innovation in this dedicated team. Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in a similar NPD role within food manufacturing where you have gained a strong understanding of all aspects of product development from ideation stage through to launch. A broad minded, flexible approach as well as an eye for the bigger picture is key in order to ensure the company’s creative direction is commercially viable for now and in the future. In addition you must also be articulate with amazing communication, organisation and project management skills
