Salary: up to £30,000pa

Are you currently working in procurement within the fresh produce industry and looking for a new challenge? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! Due to continued growth and expansion, our client, a market leader within the fresh produce industry is looking to strengthen their procurement team by appointing a Junior Buyer. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable industry knowledge and expertise within a progressive business.

Reporting into the Senior Procurement Manager, this position is responsible for developing good personal working relationships with key suppliers and agents and where agreed expand and develop the supply base to deliver innovation and commercial advantage.
You will be tasked with buying to the procurement plan in conjunction with the manager and then delivering it achieving the KPI targets set on quality, availability and price, whilst maintaining customer service levels and expectations. Essentially you will need to work closely with internal colleagues, the customers and suppliers to improve the supply chain and drive forward the category.

Experience and Person Specification:
-Experience within a purchasing/buying team as junior buyer/buying assistant
-CIPS qualified or working towards would be advantageous
-Knowledge and experience working in food manufacturing or fresh produce
-This role will be suitable for a driven person who has can work closely with a team.
