Job Details

We’ve got a fantastic job for a Site Technical Manager to join our Winsford manufacturing site which forms part of the senior team. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical advice and guidance to ensure Morrison’s standards for quality, safety, statutory compliance, corporate social responsibility and integrity are achieved, and business and commercial improvements are delivered.

This role is working Monday to Friday, days, 40 hours per week

Requirements of the Job

As a Site Technical Manager, you will be a strong decision maker and will work with colleagues across the business to identify, escalate and manage risks, deal with incidents and improve processes. You will manage raw material quality and compliance alongside welfare and supplier assurance, scorecards, approval list and audits. You will be responsible for delivering strategic technical plans for site and running support groups around this strategy. You will support external regulatory and enforcement agencies, and be the technical adviser for third party customers.

About You

You will be ideally degree qualified from a relevant science, manufacturing, chemistry, engineering, business or a closely related discipline and have a good working knowledge of all accreditation standards and relevant legislation. You will also have a lead assessor qualification and/or significant experience of supplier auditing. You will have an appreciation of the safety, legal compliance, compositional and quality aspects of products in the defined area and a clear understanding of their related technologies coupled with specialised technical of manufacturing knowledge within meat.

Winsford was acquired by Morrisons in 2012 and sits on 12 acres of land. Having undergone extension in 2014 the site now operates 30 production lines, operating 24 hours a day 7 days a week employing 800 colleagues. The site produce over 900 tons / 2 million packs of beef, pork, lamb, mince and burgers per week.
