The Food Technologist will report to the Technical Manager and perform several functions in ensuring the smooth running of the department in all areas; gaining and building experience of product-release, SOPs, Food Hygiene etc. Whilst the role is broad, we are looking for someone who can quickly pick it up and help build the systems we use to ensure we stay at the forefront of producing safe, quality food. You must be familiar with QMSs and well accustomed to working to HACCP and BRC standards. You will be qualified to HACCP level 3, Internal Auditor, and level 3 food safety. You must be confident, personable and able to work in a fast paced, cross-functional capacity.
The key responsibility for this role will involve supporting the smooth running of the Business from a Technical perspective, whilst working closely with Warehouse and Operations. Experience dealing with sampling, labs and the returning results would be advantageous. You will be involved in drafting several technical documents relating to specifications, QAS and factory SOPs, as well as day-to-day checks of paperwork, raw materials delivered and label accuracy on the factory floor. Both internal and external audits will need to be supported at varying levels depending on department requirement to ensure we meet the high standards expected. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, getting it right and keeping it right.
- Degree educated in a Food Science or related discipline.
- Ability and confidence to work independently.
- Food Safety & Food Hygiene qualifications & experience.
