Quality Manager – Food Manufacturing

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly competent Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor looking to step up. You will have the chance to join an expanding food business, where you will get the opportunity to work closely with a range of customer throughout the UK, with a focus on developing the QA team.

The business has three processing sites based in the UK and Italy. The UK premise have been adapted and upgraded for the storage, sorting and packaging of food products, with designated areas for raw material, packaging, finished and factored product storage, sorting and packing.  Recently, the company has invested €2m to boost their supplies in Europe and Asia, as it plans to boost global supply by sharing its knowledge of varieties.

As Quality Manager you will manage the quality assurance team, improving standards across the site and ensuring legislations are met. You will develop the technical and quality functions, looking at driving change and improving systems and processes.

To Include:

  • Manage Quality Assurance Technicians and QC’s, to ensure health, safety and environment, food safety and quality management systems are in place and followed
  • To understand, implements and review quality systems associated with the production of food to the agreed safety and quality standards.
  • To identify improvements and share best practices
  • Conduct internal audits and micro testing against the agreed schedule
  • Deputise for the Technical Manager in their absence from site

To be chosen for an interview, you must have experience across several years within a Quality Assurance / Quality Management role in the food industry. Ideally you will have experience in managing a team, with strong people and influencing skills. A preference in food safety level 4, BRC Auditing and IOSH Managing safety. You must possess strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft packages.
