Transport Manager, London (must have food)

Our client is looking for an experienced Transport Manager to run their busy night shift team. Looking after a fleet of branded vehicles and all the responsibilities that go with this, you will also be managing a strong team of 100+ drivers.

As mentioned above, this is a night shift role as all the action happens on your shift! Everything manufactured during that day must go out that same night. No carry over with these products so we need your quick wit to ensure that waste is kept to a minimum and all orders are delivered.

You have significant experience of working in a transport / distribution role within the food manufacturing industry. You understand the strict protocols that need to be adhered to when dealing with food.

This is a senior role within a very progressive business. You have the personality to successfully lead a busy team and ensure that targets are met each and every night. You are happy to roll up your sleeves and pitch in where necessary. Learning the drop offs and the routes is a matter of principle for you to ensure that you understand the implications and offer alternative options if traffic conditions require it.

You are the one with the knowledge of the city and as such you run your department with your finger on the pulse. No disappointed customers on your watch.

• Significant experience of working in logistics within the food sector
• A great work ethic

• Possessing a personality that naturally brings people on side
