Manufacturing Engineer

The Role:

An exciting new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer is available at my client’s site in Royston, offering a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package, including up to 22% pension contribution.

The primary objective of this role is to lead improvement initiatives within the Value Stream, supporting complex problem solving and acting as the key interface with the projects team for new products, equipment, processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

-Lead improvement projects within the Value Stream

-Support the production teams with process and manufacturing improvements

-Project manage Value Stream projects in line with Project Management guidelines

-Value Stream Map and data driven optimisation of processes within the VS to reduce or eliminate all identified waste

-Ensure all projects meet JM safety guidelines and relevant regulations

Required Skills & Experience:

-A minimum of HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Process or Manufacturing engineering

-Relevant experience in a high volume manufacturing environment

-Ideally have TPM implementation experience and knowledge of PFMEA

-Experience and understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen

-Understanding of design and production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and re-work

-Strong problem solving skills, an ability to drive change and an excellent ability to plan and organise work

-A focus on continued self-development and motivation to apply learnings

-Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships with multi-disciplined teams
