Technical Services Manager

Eden Scott’s client is one Scotland’s leading FMCG manufacturer. They are now looking for a Technical Services Manager to join their exciting team in Perthshire.

This is what you will need to be in their team.

Responsibilities

• Leadership and management of the group technical services team to include task and project allocation, team training, performance/development and resource management
• Conducting performance appraisals, training and assessment, disciplinary, holiday authorisations and sickness reporting
• Standardisation and implementation of quality & technical systems across all production sites
• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of group HACCP systems
• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of group TACCP systems
• Coordinator for cross-site transfer of technical knowledge
• In collaboration with other departments, manage the group supplier management approval system
• Creation of and compliance to group supplier audit schedule
• Collation and risk assessment of supplier assurance documentation
• Standardisation and maintenance of all KPI and data trending systems for the department including coordination of all technical KPI reports
• The management of consumer complaints and compliant systems and analysis of complaint data Generation of technical KPI reports
• Responsible for internal audits against the Group Quality Management System and completion of actions arising from them
• Conducting internal systems audits against an agreed schedule on all group sites

Requirements

• Relevant qualification to degree standard or substantial experience in lieu of this
• Minimum 3 years management experience in the technical/quality field within the food industry
• Hold a relevant auditor qualification
• Proven people management skills and experience
• Detailed understanding and proven capability in the areas of HACCP, TACCP, BRC, Good Manufacturing Practice, Customer Codes of Practice (e.g. Tesco TFMS, M&S COP)
• Expert understanding of documented systems
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• An understanding of the bottled water industry statutory and regulatory obligations
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to interact and build relationships with other members staff and external stakeholders at all levels and modify personal style to suit
• Well organised with an ability to deal with complex issues
• Job holder will inevitably be privy to sensitive issues and must therefore be discrete at all times
• Commitment to working to high ethical standards
