Site QEHS Specialist, North Tawton, Devon

We're one of the world's biggest dairy producers. Join our Taw Valley site in Devon as a Site QEHS Specialist and improve the way we make food that is loved by millions. Our Taw Valley site operates 24 hours per day, approximately 355 days/yr and produces award winning Cheese, Whey, Cream, Butter, WPC and Powder.

This is an exciting opportunity to use skills already developed within the QEHS function of a food manufacturing operation. You will be responsible for a variety of QEHS activities in order to ensure the efficient running of the department. This is a great opportunity and will provide a great challenge for the right candidate, who is looking to develop their career.

You will lead, coach, train, manage, develop and motivate, and be responsible for defining and achieving resource requirements. You will be a key player in ensuring that the highest factory standards are met in line with BRC, and other customer requirements. You will also be expected to make significant contributions to problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives, trend analysis and hygiene improvements.

You will continuously develop documentation, practices and procedures and ensure that all documentation and processes required to comply with standards, customer specific or internal standards are ready and of a high standard at all times. You will work with other team members across the site to ensure that standards are implemented, achieved and maintained. In addition you will lead customer audits and internal audits and challenge ways of working, supporting the QEHS team during other site inspections and coordinating complaints and incident reporting.

You are

You will have a proven track record in a Quality and/or Environment, Health and Safety role within a food manufacturing environment. Dairy knowledge would be preferred but not essential. You must have a strong knowledge of Chemistry and Microbiology with an in-depth understanding of BRC, customer standards and audit requirements. A high skills level across leadership, problem solving and project management is essential along with the ability to think on your feet and make decisions. Good IT skills are required with knowledge of SAP as an advantage.
