But we’re much more than that, we’re on a mission to become the leading independent UK provider of specialist chilled dairy products to food manufacturing, food service and contract manufacturing customers. Now run by the third generation of the Highnam family and in our 60^th year, both the business and the range of specialty products has grown and developed to form one of the most respected and successful independent dairies in the South West. With a turnover of circa £38m and over 120 people the business now occupies a modern, well equipped production facility employing the latest manufacturing technology situated on the edge of North Dorset’s lush and fertile Blackmore Vale. Job Description

As Engineering Manager, it is an exciting time to join and a real opportunity to make a mark as we expand our factory and continue to invest. You will have the opportunity to develop and expand your team as well as transforming the plant from being reactive in maintenance, implementing a truly preventive maintenance system. To be successful in the position you are ideally a mix of a skilled engineer and a strong leader of people and to succeed you will need to care passionately for developing people.

What we are looking for:

You are an experienced Engineering Manager who has a proven ability in leading engineering teams in manufacturing/processing environments (experience in the food sector is a bonus but not a necessity) and you are driven by striving for world class preventative maintenance.

Here’s a few things that we see as critical for someone to be successful in the role:

• Experience of managing engineering teams in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Good human relations, motivational and communication skills
• Knowledge of modern maintenance techniques
• Project management skills
• Strong systems/IT ability (we use Epicor ERP system which would be ideal, but not essential)
