The role of the Science Directorate incorporates a wide range of Departments across several disciplines, primarily concerned with Science.

Working directly to the Chief Executive and being a member of the Executive Management Team, the role is integral to the Senior Leadership Team of this organisation, managing the day to day operations as well as setting the future strategy of the Group.

The job purpose is to maintain a reputation as  leaders in our field, evident as:

• Excellence in provision of commercially relevant technical services to the food and drink sector.
• Excellence in staff competence, motivation, development, progression and working environment.
• Excellence in external credibility and reputation within the customer based, policy makers and the extended scientific community.
• Excellence in organisation and management to ensure technical services are provided efficiently and cost effectively.

To manage all aspects of the Directorate to ensure health and safety and quality are maintained by the implementation of efficient systems compliant with those defined by the Group Risk & Compliance Group.

To engender a culture of cooperation and facilitate the integration of technical capabilities across the work areas to ensure we have the expertise, capacity and systems of work to meet the needs of the marketplace.
