The company

This food manufacturer provides specialist foods and drinks that are frozen, chilled and ambient.  A relatively new company that is part of a larger and well-established group, they are looking to expand and lead their particular niche sector.

The job

Heading into the Operations Director, you will be responsible for the forecasting and planning of operations within the plant, ensuring efficient use of personnel and production resources to co-ordinate work activities.  Leading from the front, you will motivate your team whilst liaising with customers and suppliers/service providers to ensure effective production and service to the customer. In addition, you will ensure health and safety policies and procedures are enforced and adhered to within the plant plus ensure the implementation, supervision and maintenance of the company’s quality and food safety systems. You will play an active role in developing new products and systems, recruit and select operations personnel as necessary and supervise plant maintenance, cleanliness and general hygiene throughout the factory.

Your experience

You will be a driven and proven operations or senior production manager with the ability to manage operations and supply chain challenges within food manufacturing. You will be able to demonstrate previous success in developing a structured and systematic approach, ensuring compliance and consistency with systems and procedures. A proven track record in people management and development is essential; motivating and developing current and new people and building teams.
