This is a well-established bakery that is a family owned and BRC accredited specialising in ambient, long shelf-life, high quality bakery snack products.

The job

As NPD and Technical Technician, you will help plan and develop long shelf life recipes and nutritional information for new products to specified briefs working with a specified cost budget.  You will also be required to review and update working recipes, nutritional information and product specifications for any new products or existing products in development.  Working closely with the production team to ensure production methods are commercial for any new products and with the Marketing Manager to review and update the current product range for improved recipes and new product development, you will also be involved with market research.  You will be required to work and liaise with existing and new customers as well as with ingredient suppliers for new ingredient samples and pricing.

Your experience

You will have at least 1 years’ experience within a development role plus have a higher education qualification in food technology or science – a degree would be preferred.  Key computer skills including Microsoft Office especially Excel are necessary, knowledge and a good understanding of the ambient, impulse, snack, and baked goods market would be an advantage.  You will be self-motivated, possess good communication skills both verbal and written, be organised, good at time-keeping and self-assured.
