Purchasing Officer

Title: Purchasing Officer

This is an ideal role for someone looking to expand their experience within Purchasing and Supply Chain. 

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate customer demand forecast whilst improving service levels. You will maintain close working relationships with a number of different internal and external customers. You be will be asked to participate in demand/supply planning, inventory/age/service levels, distribution, new product commercialization and customer service support.  

• Monitor SKU levels and recommend initiatives to reduce inventory exposure
• Raise awareness of any current risks for shortages or excess inventory to the business
• Actively participate in continuous improvement to drive increased profitability
• Place PO’s to maintain the proper inventory levels that will support service targets
• Track Shipments from the suppliers to ensure on time receipts
• Work with suppliers on expediting shipments when delays occur
• Manage the sales and operations process, ensuring delivery of valued business
• Collaborate with business development team on new commercial opportunities

Key responsibilities

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Ability to manage multiple customer relationships simultaneously with varied levels of complexity
• Strong knowledge of Demand/Supply Planning - Strong financial and inventory systems knowledge
• High level attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong and effective communication and presentation skills
• Excellent systems knowledge, specifically; Microsoft Excel, Access, MAPICS , SAP and other ERP/DRP/MRP functionality
