Why Genius Foods?

Having struggled to find tasty gluten-free bread in the supermarket founder Lucinda Bruce-Gardyne spent three years creating the perfect, fresh gluten-free loaf. These bread recipes became Genius Foods in 2009, bringing normality and relief to many consumers following a gluten free diet across the UK. 

We’ve been instrumental in putting gluten-free on the map – but that’s only the beginning. As more and more people seek out great tasting gluten-free products we plan to offer them the best they’ll find, a growing range of mealtime choices that are lovingly created with both their lifestyles and their appetites in mind.

To continue our journey we are now looking for an experienced General Manager to lead our team at our main bakery site in Bathgate.

General Manager – Role Description

The General Manager, has full accountability and leadership for the site including production, engineering, hygiene, process functions, its people, safe working environment and assets.
The focus of the role is to drive and motivate our people to achieve the most cost effective; high performance production facility with the highest quality that enshrines the Genius Gutsy culture and the health and safety of our people, consumers and products.

This “hands on” leader role is key to the overall success of Genius through the performance of its No1 bakery site contributing to our exciting business plan. 
The General Manager will report to the Operations Director, you will be part of the senior leadership team and as such be expected to contribute across the Genius business.

To be successful in this role we are looking for the following experience:

• Over 10 years production leadership experience preferably in food
• Demonstrable evidence of driving improved performance through strong leadership
• Development of people and creating an engaging working environment. 
• A “can do” leader who has evidence of making an impact and influencing the “bottom” line
