Bakery Manager - Salary £37,500
Description of Position
Oversees and directs operations of Bakery department and other areas of the warehouse. Answers member questions, demonstrates and sells merchandise to members. Stocks and maintains good condition and presentation of department product.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Schedules, develops, counsels, trains and directs department personnel. Makes recommendations for hiring, promotion and termination to Warehouse Manager.
Drafts and participates in presentation of employee performance evaluations.
Implements and updates safety and security procedures. Ensures health code compliance, such as monitoring of sanitation, temperatures and pull dates.
Reviews department profit and loss statement. Develops and implements sales and merchandising plan for department.
Observes employees to ensure proper department production procedures and standards are followed. Checks quality and consistency of finished product.
Determines production requirements and participates in baking product.
Oversees product presentation and merchandising.
Approves and submits physical inventory periodically (13 times a year).
Approves and submits order to buying office for equipment, product and supplies.
Coordinates proper maintenance and repairs for machinery, equipment and utensils.
Provides and ensures prompt and courteous member service.
This is a full time management/leadership position (45+ hours per week).
Assists with front end duties and other departments of the warehouse where necessary.
Required Skills, Abilities, and Certifications
Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Forklift Certification required within 3 months.
Intermediate Food Hygiene Certification.
Experience: Supervisory, sales, bakery merchandising experience
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:Product knowledge preferred
