We're one of the world's biggest dairy producers. Join our Taw Valley site in Devon as a Production Team Leader and improve the way we make food that is loved by millions. We currently have a vacancy within our Cheese and Liquids production department for a shift team leader. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team in a very busy department, ensuring that the production team and area is managed in-line with the Arla goals and values of Lead, Sense and Create. There are four shifts working 365 days per year 24/7 on a four on four off days / nights shift pattern.

About the job

The Cheese and Liquids department is a fast-paced production area where we produce up to 41,000 tonnes of cheese per year. Safety will be the first on your personal agenda in everything you and your team do. You will work closely with the Production Manager and alongside the three other shifts. The operation includes the management of our Milk Intake area / Liquid processing and all aspects within the dairy as part of our cheese making process. You will coordinate different tasks throughout the operation to ensure food safety and manufacturing guideline compliance, coordination of engineering tasks and manage local Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs). Service to our customers and cost savings will also be part of the role, working with bright ideas from colleagues to improve the process and reduce waste. Collaboration and team working are fundamental to the success of the Dairy. You will recognise the importance of internal supplier/customer relationships and will enable continuous improvement on site.

What do we offer?

We are committed to professional development. You won`t just be developing our people, you will be improving your own prospects too. We are an innovative forward-looking business that must adapt to an ever-changing environment.

You have outstanding communication skills with the ability to engage, motivate and inspire at all levels. You will have gained experience within a similar supervisory/people management role ideally within a food production environment, with a proven ability to manage against health and safety/food hygiene principles. You will also be familiar with Outlook, Excel, Word and power point and preferably have a good understanding of SAP.

Finally, you will need to possess the personal drive to improve and be confident in taking initiative on your own.
