Description

The Service Technician works alone for the vast majority of the time with his/her workload allocated on a monthly basis. The exact timing of work must be co-ordinated with the customer to ensure access, and that work is carried out in the most efficient manner. In addition, the customer must be consulted for access to secure areas and for the issue of "permits to work". The planned work is routine and repetitive although carried out on systems which are simultaneously maintaining life. The work is continued in the working wards and therefore courtesy and consideration are essential.

Job Purpose:

To maintain piped medical gas systems and all associated air & vac plant in secure and safe working order.

To provide a scheduled and 24 hour emergency maintenance cover on hospital plant and piped medical gas services along with their associated monitoring systems.

To survey and promote sales of PPM contracts submitting schedules of equipment of system extensions for formulation of contract tenders.

To survey, cost and tender minor installations and alterations to existing systems.

To undertake minor installation and commissioning activity where necessary.



Profile

The Service Technician will need a ONC Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferably a HNC. Ideally you will have experience within practical medical gas service but my client will consider people with installation and service experience. Electrical knowledge ,knowledge & experience of working with air & vacuum plant, knowledge of product, costing and tendering systems.
