This exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join a well respected food manufacturing company at their production facility in West Yorkshire.

Reporting to the Operations Engineering Manager, the Engineering Supervisor is accountable for ensuring productivity within the area of responsibility by providing quality engineering support to the Operations Shift Manager, the shift and the site.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
*Leading, controlling and taking full accountability for the engineering shift in their duties and their adherence to Company procedures at all times and taking appropriate action where necessary.
*Maintaining Safe Systems of Work and Environment, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
*Reporting all near misses and accidents.
*Implementing the Planned Preventative Maintenance Plan and ensuring all works are carried out to the highest engineering standards and quality.
*Working closely with the Ops Manager to prioritise breakdowns, reactive maintenance and any PPM Scheduling.
*Ensuring excellent engineering practices at all times including a 'clean as you go' principle.
*Managing the team to ensure they have the relevant skills and knowledge to allow them to carry out their duties effectively, carrying out training where appropriate.
*Providing regular feedback to the Engineering Manager on operational and maintenance issues.
*Showing financial control when assessing, repairing processes and ordering spares.
*Liaising with contractors and controlling their work on the site, ensuring all work is completed to the Company's requirements and all relevant Permits to Work are completed.
*In the absence of the Engineering Manager, and on your allocated weekends, cover the role of Duty Engineer, dealing with various site problems and decision making.
*Arranging cover for holidays and absence to ensure smooth an unhindered manning on the shift in line with company holiday and overtime policy.
*Ensuring that all return to work meetings are conducted and passed to HR in a timely manner.

Candidates will be required to demonstrate:

*A qualification to ONC level or equivalent in an engineering discipline,
*Proven supervisory experience,
*Experience with electrical, pneumatic hydraulic systems,
*An ability to work using their own initiative,
*Excellent health and safety awareness,
*An ability to analyse complex information, solve problems and make decisions,
*Excellent organisational and communication skills,
*A high level of personal motivation,
*Working well as part of a team, leading by example, and
*Food industry experience within a high-speed production environment.
