The Role

Reporting to the Technical Manager, this is a varied role which will support the NPD team with new and existing product development. This will cover technical aspects of NPD such as sourcing new ingredients that are to spec, carrying out production trials and launches.  This will mean you will be overseeing the transition of new concepts from kitchen to production, ensuring products are technically sound throughout the development process whilst guaranteeing specifications, timescales and budgets are met.

You will work alongside internal teams to co-ordinate post launch evaluations, monitoring the commercial and operational feasibility of concepts for full scale production and driving continuous improvements. You’ll be responsible for monitoring the product performance in line with customer quality parameters as well as the latest food safety legislation, evaluating trial data and samples alongside troubleshooting potential issues.

The role will also require you to produce supporting documentation such as quality attribute sheets, pack copy, artwork sign off and labels and you will have the responsibility of ensuring that all specifications are created and updated within timescales.

The Person

This role would suit a Food Science or related degree graduate, who is a confident and experienced Process Technologist with amazing attention to detail and technical know-how. Your technical knowledge will include labelling legislation and specifications systems coupled with familiarity of HACCP, GMP and technical KPI’s. This will help you drive forward to deliver projects that are right first time. You must have experience within the chilled sector and be proactive and methodical in your approach, you’ll thrive in a fast paced and demanding environment where you can work effectively as part of a team and on your own.
