Is this the best Process Development Manager opportunity available in the North West?
Ultimately the answer to the above question will be subjective, but we think so.
According to https://www.fastcompany.com/35065/what-makes-great-job there are 5 ingredients to a great job (apologies I couldn't find a UK source, bear with me on this!).
1. Does the job reflect your passion?
If we are honest, this possibly won't (unfortunately it is not making beer/wine or chocolate). However, the end product possibly is for some and is in a huge growth area (so you will be part of a site that has significant growth plans).
2. Will you have a great mentor?
You will be working with an individual who has worked in senior positions with some of the most highly respected companies in its sector. They have also worked with all the major retailers and are held in high regard. This person will help support develop you to create a Best In Class process department.
3. Will you have opportunities to learn a lot, fast?
Yes. This site is undergoing significant change which you will be a key proponent of. There are specific plans for the department which have not been tried before in terms of specialisation.
4. Does the job encourage rapid change?
As above, yes. This site has been described as a sleeping giant - it is now being awoken and you will help direct it.
5. Is the company an EOC (employer of choice)?
With Brexit (nearly) upon us, engagement of workforce is a critical topic for most employers and this one is no different. They have a number of personal development programs to help support you professionally which is guided by a central Learning & Development function.
Due to the complexity of the product range, process development experience within food manufacturing is a requirement for this role. Other than that, good people management skills will be key to help direct the team into their new areas of specialism. Like variety? This role is working with 5+ retailers.
Is this the easiest job in the world? Probably not. Is it the best Process Development Manager opportunity in the North West? Well, if you want a job with a large, complex, exciting factory seeing significant investment then possibly yes?
If you want your commute to work to be filled with thoughts of what new process or technology can I get into the factory? Then apply today.
