Description

This is a great opportunity to join a business on the up & impact the future of a site. This Shift Manager role is a demanding but rewarding one, giving you the remit to have a level of autonomy, problem solve & develop your own team. You will develop & lead the site production team in the delivery of an effective and efficient operation in line with the business requirements.



Key Responsibilities
  • To manage, develop & lead the production team on site.
  • To manage an efficient shift in line with KPI &budgetary targets.
  • To ensure the site production team complies with all Company standards when working (Health and Safety, hygiene, etc).
  • Works with the senior leadership to ensure continuous improvement plans are in place to drive year on year improvements.
  • Line management responsibility for direct reports.
  • Ensure regular performance reviews are in place for them.
  • Understands customer needs and ensures delivery of the correct clean linen on time and to the correct standards for each customer.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained in all production areas and appropriate paperwork completed and signed-off.
  • Takes responsibility and accountability for resolving all production issues on site; escalating to the Operations Manager as required.
  • Is the lead person on site in the absence of the General Manager or outside of normal working hours.
  • Takes collective responsibility for the production team & promotes a team environment to deliver results. Demonstrates leadership and flexibility in the role.
  • Maintains all production standards (eg, Health and Safety, hygiene, uniform, PPE, behaviour, etc).
  • Ensure that the production team maintain the appropriate standards of housekeeping and hygiene for all plant and work areas in the production area.
  • Understand the KPIs for production & focuses on the team delivering & maximising productivity on a shift/daily/weekly basis.
  • Makes effective use of all equipment through planning and effective use of labour.
  • Ensure accurate recording of all KPIs & that all necessary paperwork is completed and signed off on a shift/daily/weekly basis.
  • Motivate production team and ensures effective communication at all levels.
  • Regular performance reviews to be held with direct reports and their teams; coaching them and ensures effective development plans are in place.
  • Carries out full investigation for all incidents and accidents involving the production team.
  • Review plant performance with the site engineering team & ensure that all equipment is working to the appropriate targets.
  • Ensure any engineering maintenance activity is managed in line with production demands.
  • Oversee HR Policies & processes (performance, disciplinary, grievance, attendance).
  • Support the Operations Manager in ad-hoc project work & tasks as required.



YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK A 4 ON 2 OFF SHIFT PATTERN (6:00 - 15:30, 14:00 - 23:30)

Profile

A Production Supervisor /Shift Manager with:
  • Experience managing a team in a fast paced but variable manufacturing/processing unit
  • Proven management capability
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge & be passionate about driving improvements
  • A proven track record working to OTIF & other KPI metrics
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers
  • The ability to remain calm and positive in a demanding environment


Job Offer

Circa £32,000 - £35,000 + Benefit Scheme
