The last person to be in this role is now the site QA Manager.

So straight away I can tell you there will be opportunities to progress further down the line. The business is big on staying internal as much as possible when it comes to recruitment.

As a spec tech you might not necessarily have the skills to move into QA management, which gives you an idea of the training that will be available too.

The role itself is pretty straight forward if you're an accomplished specs writer. You'll be focusing on raw materials and ingredient specs as it's a B2B company. However, if you're looking to get into specs from say a QA background then you will definitely be considered.

That means you don't have to have any specific platform experience, but if you've put together specs for some of the bigger manufacturing groups in the UK then it will definitely help.

The business isn't massive and the technical team is small. What's good about that is you'll get to help out others in the team on the odd occasion, maybe even spend some time in the factory rather than being stuck at the desk 24 / 7.
