Job Details
The role of Shift Engineer will be based at our Devon site reporting into the Shift Team Leader, operating across a 4 on 4 off shift pattern including days, night and weekends.
Our dairy is a highly automated, highly efficient site. You will diagnose issues and solve problems on a fascinating mix of old and cutting-edge new equipment. You'll improve and maintain. And you'll work individually and within a small, friendly and supportive team to make sure our equipment can maintain production target. Safety is a high priority and continuously improved.
Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for reactive and preventative maintenance of the dairy's production lines to identify improvements. You will carry out any relevant repairs or improvements adhering to safety methods.
The role will also involve reporting on CMMS systems and root cause analysis.
About You?
- You will be a fully qualified/time served Engineer, with a background in manufacturing or production ideally gained within the Food industry with some formal electrical qualification.
- You will be an excellent communicator too - able to work with others to deliver results and drive meaningful improvements.
- LEAN techniques would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
- You will be IT competent and will undertake training in our CMMS systems.

About Our Devon Facility
The cheese department at Taw Valley produces approximately 110 tons of cheese per day, along with whey butter, whey protein and permeate powder. Our cheeses including cheddar, red Leicester, double Gloucester, organic, and reduced fat are supplied into supermarkets all over the UK along with our own brands Tickler, and Anchor.
