This successful business has been present in the food industry for a number of decades and is a global supplier of innovative products to the retailers and further manufacture. They have built a strong reputation and have developed close relationships with their established suppliers, ensuring high quality and integrity at all times.
This role will support senior members of the R+D team, working with the Senior Flavourists initially to learn the business and grow into the role, before eventually taking over control of your own projects and junior members of the team to mentor. You will pro-actively create new and improved existing flavours against quality, cost and legislative requests from the customers and for the businesses flavour library. This will involve both savoury and sweet flavours across a product range of food products. Organoleptic assessments of competitor products must be carried out as well as the study of new trends to keep ahead in the flavour industry. You will also support the quality teams in investigating complaints, and accompany colleagues to customer presentations.
This role will have the chance to train and mentor trainee technicians in development techniques and raw materials.
You will also be involved in legal compliance and manage relationships with external bodies.
- Several years of proven experience as a Flavourist, ideally a chemical flavourist with both sweet and savoury experience.
