Our client is a market leader within their sector and manufactures all products at their site in the UK. A BRC AA Certification showcases the quality of production that goes into every item they create. Working in the frozen sector they supply a broad range of products for commercial and consumer consumption.


Job Role

Working closely with the Technical Manager you will be assisting with the quality assurance in manufacturing ensuring that products are supplied by the company in a safe and legal manner and exceed the customer expectations. Supporting the production in regards to implementing and maintaining solid manufacturing practices in the factory in accordance with the company procedures and BRC standards.



The ideal candidate will be need to have experience in the key areas below:

  • Working alongside the production team checking quality of manufactured product and carrying out a variety of checks on each item
  • Conduct internal audits reporting any non-conformances
  • Undertake ATP Testing monthly and swabbing quarterly
  • Work in the lab when required sampling products supplying a score against agreed quality standards and implementing any actions required
  • Audit the operational areas Critical Control Points reporting back on any issues
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a ‘quality culture’ within the business
  • Manage any quality issues arising within the pack house ensuring they are clearly communicated to all relevant departments and any major issues are escalated appropriately
  • Review and respond to health and safety issues
  • Report near misses and hazards observations
  • Report any food safety issues
  • Report any faults or deficiencies in working equipment
  • To ensure health and safety, food safety, legality, integrity, quality and environmental obligations are met


Personal Profile

  • Food Technology Degree / Qualification (Desirable)
  • Food Safety Level 2 (Desirable)
  • HACCP qualification (Desirable)
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment or production environment
  • Experience conducting internal audits (GMP, Glass audit) within the food industry (Desirable)
  • Working knowledge of BRC (Desirable)
  • Well organised with good planning and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible attitude to working hours as and when required
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety at work
