The FSA is accountable for the delivery of Official Controls in England and Wales in all approved slaughterhouses, game handling establishments and other associated meat production facilities in a variety of locations.
The Official Auxiliary role is one of the key front-line operational activities within the FSA. The primary function of an Official Auxiliary is to carry out post mortem examinations of all animals presented for human consumption within approved slaughterhouses across England and Wales. The post holder will be required to examine carcases and associated offal’s to determine their suitability to enter the food chain. Due to the nature of the industry, you will be expected to be flexible in your hours of work, as many facilities require our services during unsocial times of the day, including night working in some areas.
We are seeking a number of Official Auxiliaries from a diverse mix of qualifications, skillsets, backgrounds and experience within the Meat Industry and or other food sectors. Everyone who joins the team will receive training and ongoing development.
