Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Slough, Food Manufacturing

We are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a leading FMCG Manufacturer based in Slough.

The successful candidate will work within the Engineering team to ensure that all plant, equipment and services are operating efficiently, and to the agreed safety standards to enable all production and sales requirements to be met. You will maintain all equipment on site, and respond promptly to breakdowns, to ensure a safe working environment and full production capacity at all time; whilst complying with policy and procedures.

Responsibilities Include:

• To establish the cause of electrical and mechanical breakdowns and to identify and implement the best solution.
• Operate an effective planned preventative maintenance programme for plant and equipment which results in minimum plant downtime.
• Work as part of the production team to maximise plant performance and to ensure basic maintenance checks are completed
• Seek out areas for plant improvement and recommend improvement actions which will result in increased quality, plant utilisation, throughput etc.
• Meet company quality standards at all times.
• Diagnose electrical or mechanical faults in equipment and carry out any necessary day to day repairs.
• Routine maintenance of production equipment and machinery.
• To ensure correct Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
• To ensure a fast response to any issue particularly under breakdown conditions to minimise engineering downtime

The Ideal Candidate:

• Good problem-solving skills
• Maintenance Engineering experience gained from a food or FMCG environment
• The initiative to work independently or as part of a team
• Methodical thinker

Salary: circa £35,000 + Benefits
