Hands on CI Manager is needed to train and develop 5 sites understanding of continuous improvement. Implement projects, set standards and demonstrate best practice within the Factory

Client Details

Market leader in their field. The company is a collection of factories which have previously worked in silo. Under new investment the factories have all been grouped so that the company can offer a complete solution to all their customers needs. They are currently the biggest in their field but they want to be known as the best. They need a CI Manager to help them achieve this goal.

Description

The CI Manager will need to:
  • To manage and facilitate continuous improvement activities and initiatives across the sites to improve process capability, plant efficiency and reduce waste
  • To identify areas for improvement across all units of the business
  • To implement effective continuous improvement projects, using 5S, kaizen, value stream mapping and other lean manufacturing methodologies
  • To collect, monitor, evaluate and report on relevant data - and subsequent utilisation of data to plan CI projects
  • To manage both short and longer term projects, using data analysis to support prioritisation of work and using a balanced scorecard of key metrics
  • To lead and mentor the existing workforce to create a continuous improvement ethos, driving cultural change
  • To work alongside the production team to drive process improvement and introduce standard operating procedures
  • To facilitate CI workshop events, coaching and developing teams and individuals at all levels on-site (including leadership team) to develop a workforce wide Kaizen culture and a group of green and yellow belts
  • To engage with senior management teams to build awareness of the potential for continuous improvement
  • To cover for the Senior Production Manager when required in running small factory units


Profile

The CI Manager will need :

Strong practical CI experience within a fast moving manufacturing environment including using Lean techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and Total Productive Maintenance.

Track record of delivering improvement projects

Ability to demonstrate practical implementation of the right tools and techniques to drive improvement.

Ability to transform data analysis into defined actions and improvement

Strong all round communication skills; ability to influence at all levels of an organisation
