We are currently looking to recruit a Specification & Artwork Coordinator to join our Technical team at our Head Office Function in Leeds. The key purpose of this role is to manage and control our key customer's and brand's technical documents to ensure they are up to date, accurate and communicated in a timely manner. You will also support key projects and provide specialist support as and when required to the wider QEHS team. Within this role you will be responsible for preparing accurate and complete specifications for customer and Arla brand UK products. It is imperative that all relevant sites which manufacture our customer products must be aware of, understand, review and agree all contents of the specifications to ensure that they can be achieved.

Responsibilities

You will ensure that all HACCP and associated documentation is up to date for all of the sites (and contract manufacturers where applicable). You will also ensure that all site certifications for Arla, along with all valid nutritional information is available, up to date and easily accessible for all products, ensuring that this data and information is organised in such a way that associated costs and duplication is minimised.

With a clear understanding of all major account's specifications and quality management systems you will be required to manage, critically review, and sign off all artwork and labelling of products within your area of responsibility ensuring that all customer, food safety and legal aspects are met. Maintaining all QAS and flavour profile spider charts, you will collate and review all shelf life data for products within your area of responsibility to ensure they are accurate, up to date and meet specification.

Managing and delivering key projects to support the overall QEHS team as required, you will carry out benchmarking and consistency panels for customer and competitor products, following up on any issues and trends. Acting as an internal consultant by collecting and communicating relevant technical and QEHS information to help in problem solving and development within the business, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of all relevant quality data and databases.

Skills

To be successful in this role you will be educated to degree level in a food science or related discipline and you will also have legal labelling and artwork training. With previous experience of working within the food industry, you will ideally have factory experience in either a production or quality related role working with both own label and branded products.

You will be self-motivated with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Fully conversant with retailer and customer policies, codes of practice and specification systems with an in-depth knowledge of artwork and packaging systems. Customer facing experience is also strongly preferred. You must be able to work under pressure with the ability to manage your own workload whilst working on your own initiative.
