Would you like to work for a household name? Are you an experienced Hygiene Manager with food industry experience who is able to get the best out of their team?

The Role

  • To identify, eliminate, minimise and control all related Health and Safety risks by conducting formal monthly risk assessments with your Manager as well as on the job risk assessments.
  • To comply with and ensure that all safe working practices, policies and work methods are adhered to at all times.
  • To highlight to the relevant manager any safety issues and report unresolved issues to health and safety co-ordinator/health and safety forum.
  • Ensure your team is motivated, capable and well trained to meet targets and high standards.
  • To control team attendance and discipline following company-wide policies and procedures.
  • To circulate management information through briefings with the team. To progress matters of concern with the Hygiene Manager.
  • Responsible for the hygienic reassembly of equipment following the cleaning stages in time for production start-up and support the production team with the transition from cleaning back into efficient production mode.
  • Inspect and approve all area of work on a daily basis identifying any areas requiring specific attention and act accordingly in terms of hygiene standards.
  • Responsible for identifying, promoting and potentially implementing continuous improvements relating all relevant areas such as effective and efficient cleaning, quality, health & safety and team development.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records relating to the cleaning process and Health and safety.
  • Responsible for the training of Hygiene personnel using operating procedures to ensure quality, safety, data accuracy and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure that no damage occurs to any equipment through the cleaning process. If it does ensure that issues be reported promptly to ensure speedy repairs.


Requirements

  • Minimum ‘O' level/GCSE standard
  • Minimum 1 year in a continuous production process
  • Proven experience of carrying out all aspects of employee management and development.
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Good level of numeracy
  • Good understanding of food microbiology
  • Self-motivated, persuasive and assertive
  • Ability to identify problems and take actions to resolve
  • Experience with IT platforms such as Microsoft Office Intermediate (Level 3) HACCP
