The Organisation

A leading FMCG business seeking to recruit a HSE Leader to join there site leadership team.

The Role

Responsible for the overall Safety, Health & Environmental capability.

Leads the implementation of all Safety, Health, Safety and Environmental programs and processes.

Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and policies and continuous improvement in key identified measures and objectives.

Prepares and builds consensus annual plans for plant wide HSE initiatives.

Plan/Budget/Control annual capital budget for Safety to ensure flawless execution of the Safety and Environmental plan.

Responsible for setting & monitoring KPI’s actuals vs target, for safety & environmental auditing vs environmental & occupational safety laws, global standards, permits.

Coordinates all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy across plants in close conjunction with the Regional Safety Health and Environmental Manager.

Appropriate risk assessments are conducted and follow ups implemented to minimize or eliminate accidents, asset losses, and environmental issues that might cause harm to one of the company’s employees, contractors, visitors.

Ensures training and coaching are taking place to drive a safety-perfect culture and to ensure Safety Health and Environmental standards and awareness are well understood throughout the plant.

Leads the implementation of 18001 and 14001 Certification. Develops and manage contacts with industry and trade associations and environmental regulatory agencies in relevant countries and regions.

Provides solutions to day-to-day Safety & Environment issues in the plants and ensures the development and roll out of best practices.

The Candidate

Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Environment or Safety

Qualification in Health, Safety and Environment 

Training and qualification in auditing on ISO 14001 and 18001 standards and Lean programs

Extensive experience as a HSE practitioner

Previous experience in working in a Management role will certainly be an advantage

Experience in leading people

Appropriate auditing experience of HSE programs

Passionate about safety and Environmental improvement;

Has an energizing and inspiring personality

Good ability to build relationships across the site, business and within local industry
