We are currently looking for a Category Analyst to collate and analyse customer and consumer data into reports which the marketing team and wider teams will use to generate actionable insight. Working with the Category Controller you will help create and maintain content to make the lives of the wider category team easier, removing duplication of work.
In addition to reporting and using shopper and market data, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in wider category marketing duties.Main responsibilities
As a Category Analyst, you will be responsible for downloading, collating and distributing data from the relevant data sources.
You will need to manipulate data and convert it into standard reports of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for multiple categories at the required frequency. You will also need to assist with collecting information on range changes (new products, packaging, price changes or promotions) by visiting stores and recording findings for category teams to use to respond to trading conditions, linking this back to data where relevant.
You will respond to ad hoc queries form the team and external customer, including issue-related requests regarding KPIs and category performance. This will be in conjunction with data suppliers and with the wider marketing and commercial teams.
From time to time there will be the opportunity to be support with delivering strategy actions, customer presentations and other analytical and creative projects.Ideal candidate
You will need to be of Graduate Calibre in either Business, Marketing or Finance, or a relevant field. You will be highly confident in sorting, interpreting and manipulating numbers – including interpreting visual trends from charts and other diagnostics. Experience of using retailer data and/or accessing customer data sources will be advantageous, and the ideal candidate will also show interest in the wider consumer market and show ambition to progress.
Advanced levels of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to prepare and deliver a presentation is needed.
Full UK driving licence is essential as the role will require an element of travelling
