You will be part of the senior leadership team and, reporting to the site Director, you will be responsible for identifying and handling improvements within Production and Technology Development and manage the site capital expenditure process and projects whilst creating the future direction. You will ensure the Oakthorpe lean journey continually improves while engaging everyone, building a culture where the team can excel and be at their best. You will have a small team reporting into you and be responsible for the planning of, target setting and optimisation within your own department.

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will ideally have a proven track record in Dairy Manufacturing and/or Innovation, Project Management and Continuous Improvement leadership roles within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. An inspirational leader, you must be able to inspire the Site Leadership Team, creating a compelling direction at all times. You must be able to link site and company objectives to departmental business plans with the ambition to deliver stretching targets, demonstrating decisiveness and agility whilst taking appropriate risks. Strong coaching, mentoring and role modelling skills are essential to inspire other people's behaviours and build commitment.
A strong shop floor based background consisting of Engineering or Production/Operations positions is key, as is a high-level problem-solving capability. Where complex problems can often occur, you must have the ability to unpick and deliver solutions timely and effectively. You must be able to link site and company objectives to departmental business plans with the ambition to deliver stretch targets, demonstrating decisiveness and agility whilst taking appropriate risks. Strong coaching, mentoring and role modelling skills are essential to inspire other people's behaviours and build commitment.

A thorough knowledge of Lean tools and techniques is essential, but just knowing the theory is not enough. You must be able to demonstrate a quantifiable track record of delivering improvements at all levels.
