The National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University supports the development of unique partnerships between manufacturers, specialist engineers, government and industry stakeholders, academics, researchers and scientists to meet the challenges in food and drink manufacturing with ground-breaking solutions. The Centre will support the food and drink industry by developing new and enhanced facilities, processes and equipment and creating a knowledgeable workforce with experience of leading engineering systems and processes.

As Food Plant Maintenance Engineer, the majority of your time will be spent at the centre which is due to open in June 2019 and is based on Attercliffe Road next to the Olympic Legacy Park. You'll have the opportunity to work in this exciting new facility with state-of-the art machinery and equipment.

Providing machinery maintenance support and set-up of test equipment to support academic staff  and researchers on their food and drink engineering projects, you will have significant experience in a food engineering environment and knowledge of routine maintenance of food engineering equipment/machinery. Knowledge and awareness of health and safety requirements in a food processing environment, including food hygiene principles, is desirable.
