Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will lead a team of 6 to produce weekly and monthly financial statements in line with group and reporting standards, manage the financial internal control environment and prepare budget & forecast data for the primary financial statements and fixed costs.

Main responsibilities
  • Preparation of monthly accounts for the Selby site in line with Group reporting deadlines, ensuring that all costs and revenues are accurately reported
  • Group BPC monthly reporting / site BPC super user representative
  • Investigating GL account details, responding to queries and account variances, to provide information and insight for senior management
  • Production and submission of statutory returns (such as Office for National statistics, Intra Stat, VAT) from relevant raw data to ensure compliance with financial statements
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts from basic data to ensure the balances are in line with accounting standards
  • Preparation of a monthly audit file with supporting documentation for sign off by the Head of Finance
  • Monitoring capital spend against budget and approved capex spend limits
  • Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register, making sure that asset description are full and serial numbers quoted where possible
  • Review invoices received and make off appropriate budget trackers, making sure that any variances are recorded and that the invoice is coded accurately
  • Quarterly forecast and annual budget preparation for Overheads and forecast/budget Balance Sheet and Cash flow
  • Rolling 12 weekly cash flow reporting to Group
  • HYE and YE cash management
  • Year End reporting – Group Statutory packs
  • Annual Tax pack preparation
  • Supervision & training for the Assistant Financial Accountants
Ideal candidate
  • Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) 
  • Minimum of 5 years practical financial accounts experience within manufacturing/FMCG.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Strong Financial system management and a good understanding of internal controls
  • Experience in leading a team / managing people
