The Shift Manager will be able to organise team resources during the shift and deputise for the Factory Manager when required. To continually pursue improved customer satisfaction and efficiency through liaison with growers, production planning and control resources.

Main Tasks:
  • Organisation of process and packing plans




  • Effective utilisation of labour and plant




  • Optimisation of the process and packing lines




  • Assist with optimisation of product quality




  • Liaison with raw material intake to determine size grading criteria




  • Liaison with QA to determine product grading




  • Ensure 150-minute legality is maintained




  • Comply with, and promote a safe working environment for all colleagues, ensuring the highest housekeeping and hygiene standards are met and maintained




  • Provide continuous communication within own and other functions




  • To undertake any other duties commensurate with the position as designated by the Factory Manager








Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring department is run effectively and efficiently




  • Minimisation of unplanned down time




  • Optimisation of planned stoppages




  • Field - factory liaison




  • Maintenance of resources to achieve effective utilisation




  • To ensure customer satisfaction and compliance to all customer requirements




  • To ensure the department provides a healthy and safe working environment




  • To ensure highest housekeeping and hygiene standards are met and maintained






Profile
  • Packing Shift System (September to May) 3x12 days one week then 3x12 hour nights the following week
  • Pea Season Shift Pattern (June to August) 3x 12 hour days, followed by 3x12 hour nights, followed by 3 days off.




  • Basic Requirements
  • Outgoing, friendly personality that can motivate their team.
  • Positive attitude and can enthuse about what they have achieved to date.
  • At least 3 years food manufacturing experience, preferably in a shift management or supervisory role.
  • Experience of working with major retailers

    Salary £32500
