Production Technician, Leigh

The Role:

Reporting to the Team Leaders, the role of Cookhouse Technician is to ensure adherence of working to standard in the quality preparation and processing of our products

The shift pattern for this role will be Monday - Friday 6am-2pm, although some flexibility may be required to do additional hours/weekends ad-hoc

Key Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with the team to adhere to and improve Health & Safety procedures, challenging where necessary
• Work to Agreed Operating Standards in the preparation of our products
• To carry out analytical tests in QC Laboratory and maintain laboratory standards
• Co-ordinate and supervise the supporting team of prep operatives
• Understand and work within CCP guidelines
• Work to ensure that the highest standards of housekeeping, hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practices are achieved and maintained
• Maintain accurate process paperwork
• Monitor and record performance, reporting issues to engineers/TL's
• Carry out first line investigations into any issues arising
• Involvement in site Continuous Improvement program
• Use judgment and initiative to maintain quality and carry out day to day tasks
• Provide ad hoc operational cover

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment
• Basic food hygiene qualification
• Basic Health and Safety qualification
• Flexible with the ability to adapt
• High level of integrity - sets and maintains high standards for self and the team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Team player with leadership capabilities and strong interpersonal skills
• Organised & conscientious with excellent attendance and punctuality
• Reliable with the ability to use own initiative
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
• IT literate with experience of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
